Winter is finally here

So it looks like winter has finally caught up with us. The past few days have been cold and windy. They're even calling for snow here this weekend. Exciting!

Okay, so winter doesn't officially start for a few more weeks, but it's the time of year for winter weather.

Abby is starting to learn what sounds different animals make. She knows that dogs go 'ruff', sheep go 'baa', ducks go 'quack' (it's actually more like 'cak', but it's close enough), elephants have long noses that go 'rur', and a few others. It's very cute.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone (especially my readers, all 5 or 6 of them) has a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

Abby has become a big fan of The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Any time you sing it to her with the hand motions, she gets very excited and starts clapping for you, sometimes even before you finish. She's also started doing some of the hand motions that go along with it, mostly the hand sweep that goes with 'washed the spider out'. It's very cute.

Condemned Man: Bing Blogger

My evil twin has been comdemned to death by shaving. Sentence to be carried out sometime this evening.

We both like the way it looks, but, as Michelle put it, 'It's too prickly'. I have noticed it begining to itch a little myself so I won't be entirely sad that it's going.

Check back tomorrow for a report on the execution and an obituary.

New 'Blogs

As I mentioned before, Michelle is in the process of starting a 'blog. It's created and I've added links and whatnot, but I'm not linking to it until there is at least one content post. Since Michelle is swamped at work right now and will likely be working late all week, it may be a bit. Please give her some time.

EDIT: Michelle's 'blog is up. Go visit Deedle Deedle.

Also, JMc's wife Bunny as started a new 'blog called Mother Bunny. Not much there because it's new and all, but it's got a few cute baby pictures already. Check it out.

Daycare Colds, Facial Hair, and Furniture

Funny title, interesting week.

First off, we've been sick all week. Flu-like bug that saps you of all energy and often causes clogging of all internal cavities with large quantities of snot. Ick.

As I mentioned before, I came to work on Halloween sporting a goatee in order to be my 'Evil Twin'. (BTW: My Evil Twin is named Bing. I didn't choose it) Well, I apparently am still evil because I haven't shaved it off yet. Michelle said that she likes it and wants me to grow it a little. She has, however, warned me not to get too attached to it.

Since we were feeling a little better this weekend and had no plans, we changed up our bedroom. It was feeling a bit crowded so we moved a few pieces of furniture out to make more room and we re-arranged to take better advantage of the extra space. We also went through a lot of our stuff in the room and got rid of some of it. There is now a nice big open spot in the room where Abby can play. Big improvement. Now we just need to figure out what to do with some of the stuff that doesn't live in the bedroom anymore but still needs a home. B-)

Happy Halloween!

I'm not one for dressing up for halloween at work, so I took the subtle approach this year: I grew a goatee and I came to work as my evil twin. B-)>

Michelle's 'blog has been created, but nothing is there yet. I'm hoping to sit down with her some night after work this week and get it up and running. More on that later.

Have a good day and don't eat all your candy at once!

Michelle is Starting a 'Blog

Apparently some people who read my 'blog and don't like the fact that it doesn't update as often as it used to have complained to Michelle about it. As a result, she's starting her own 'blog soon. I'm in the process of putting it together, but it may not be up until next week. I'll link to it when it's up.

I Hate Allergies

I've been an allergy sufferer my whole life. Every spring like clockwork, I get all congested, stuffy, sneezy, etc. I've had a long time to get used to it and learn to deal with it so it's not a problem anymore.

For whatever reason, be it my body changing or the local allergens changing, I'm now suffering from fall allergies. Badly. Not only is the time of year different, but the actual symptoms are different too. About 80% of the time I'm fine, but at least once a day, one side of my head clogs very badly, very quickly. This causes a horrible sinus headache. I've tried taking sinus medication for it, but the only things that work knock me out so that I'm half-asleep all day. I'm leery of taking regular allergy medication (Allegra, et al.) because they tend to have the same effect on me. The only plus side is that the headaches don't seem to last very long.

So if you happen to see me and I look like I'm trying to keep one of my eyes from popping out, please don't do anything loud.
